What is Physical Fitness?

  • Physical fitness refers to the body's ability to perform daily activities with vigor and without undue fatigue.

  • It encompasses different components:

    • Cardiovascular endurance

    • Muscular strength

    • Muscular endurance

    • Flexibility

    • Body composition

Being Physically Active

  • Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity each week.

  • Include strength training exercises at least two days a week.

  • Variety in activities helps maintain interest and engage different muscle groups.

How to Be Active, Injury-Free and Quackproof

  • Start slowly, especially if new to exercise; progressively increase activity levels.

  • Use proper technique and appropriate gear to minimize injury risk.

  • Warm up and cool down adequately; include stretching as part of your routine.

  • Stay informed; avoid fad diets, untested supplements, and dubious fitness advice. Stick to credible resources and consult professionals if needed.
