    • beginning of book 9 and act 1 scene 1 - theyre both outside physically, physical manifestation of isolation and exclusion, establishes nature as an outside

    • how both of them express evil intent and ambition in soliloquies as they enter

    • both start off the same way - milton influenced by reading of drama (even though he didnt like it)
