deference: respect to an elder

  • I obeyed the teacher out of deference, but i really did not want to do my work.

  The Trojan horse

  • The trojan horse is from greek lore. It was first talked about in the Odyssey. The greek solders left a giant horse outside for the Trojans. They thought it was a offering from Athena and took it inside. The greek solders were hiding inside, and they popped out when the Trojans took the horse in. This let the Greeks defeat Troy.
  • Now it means something looking innocent, but once taken in, they really do harm.
  • I thought i was downloading the new movie, but really it was a Trojan horse ,and it gave me a virus.
