She drives to a job in the morning and drives home again later that day. She is also given £8 to cover any food expenses for each day that she is not in the office. Monday: Buckshaw, 30 miles
Tuesday: in office
Wednesday: Wortham, 28 miles
Thursday: Harborough, 39 miles
Friday: Scotby, 40 miles
Total miles travelled = (30 × 2) + (28 × 2) + (39 × 2) + (40 × 2) = 60 + 56 + 78 + 80 = 274 miles.
Expenses for miles travelled = 274 × 30p = £82.20.
Expenses for food = 4 x £
8 = £32
Total expenses = £82.20 + £32 = £114.20.
