What might happen if you tried to walk across the room and there was no friction? There would be no friction, and because there is no force to stop you, you would just be moving indefinitely. What do you think the Newton meant when he said, “If I have seen farther (than most people), it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” The ideas pioneered by other people would help inspire Newton into making his theory about gravity.
