Swimming Performance Review

  • Overall Performance

    • 400 IM and 200 IM looked amazing.
    • Good energy and strong finish in freestyle.
  • Stroke Counts

    • Fly: 100 IM: 7 strokes off dive, 200 IM: 6 off dive.
    • Backstroke for 400 IM: 17, 15, 17, 16 strokes.
    • Breaststroke for 400 IM: 8, 8, 9, 9 strokes.
    • Freestyle looked consistent across both IMs: 18, 16, 18, 18 (400 IM) and 17, 18 (200 IM).
  • Breath Management

    • Breath management was good; splits were impressive.
    • Note: In fly, the first 100 was a 31 (looked easy), but 36 on return—work on consistency.
  • Freestyle Positioning

    • Focus on head position: nose down, slight pressure on forehead for balance.
    • Strong shoulder mobility and fitness visible; adjust head position for better alignment and less fatigue.
  • Kick Technique

    • Down kick improvement needed in fly and freestyle.
    • Check ankle mobility; avoid overpointing toes to prevent tightness.
  • Backstroke Adjustments

    • Ensure feet kick up, shoulder and head position aligned.
    • Address any quad burn by engaging the entire leg through the foot.
  • Efficient Stroke

    • Keep armpits dry during freestyle recovery for optimized stroke.
    • Breaststroke: leading with the head and keeping nose down improves hip position.
  • Starts and Turns

    • Starts: focus on pushing through feet; check for tightness in ankles.
    • Turns: smooth and effective, keep refining stroke transitions for efficiency.
