Key Priorities

  • Resiliency: Coastal protection against climate change and sea level rise. Focus on expanding the Private Property Adaptation Program for grants towards seawalls and other resilient measures.

  • Spring Break Management: Advocate for pivoting existing measures rather than completely eliminating them. Emphasize small shifts, like adjusting parking garage fees in residential areas and funding March programming, while maintaining FHP assistance.

  • Economic Development & Tourism: Support the city's pivot to an arts and culture destination while acknowledging the necessity of tourism for resort taxes (22,00022,000+ hotel rooms). Continue working with economic development (grants, easing business openings) to attract businesses and visitors.
