Checklist for Writing a WA2

Introduction 

  Have you clearly identified the perspective of the source?

  Have you clearly identified the key terms?  

  Have you explained how each term tells the reader about the perspective of the source?  

  Have you stated your position?  

 

Body 

  Is your argument clearly stated?  

  Is your argument clearly connected to the source?

  Have you explained your argument?

  Have you supported your argument with relevant evidence?   

  Is your evidence explained?

  Does your evidence clearly support your argument?

  Can you easily and clearly identify your argument and the evidence that supports it? Recall our highlighting practice.

  Do you reference the source of your information (website, video, expert opinion)? (optional)

 

Style/Editing 

  Does each sentence start with a capital letter?  

  Are your sentences concise and free from unnecessary words and content?  

  Do your sentences flow properly?  

  Is there punctuation at the end of every sentence?  

  Is grammar and spelling correct?  

  Is your writing free from random and unnecessary capital letters?  

  Have you used appropriate terminology to refer to organizations or groups of people?
