Final Exam
Brightfield Microscopy:
Why is a microscope used:
To magnify, things that we cannot see at their actual size
Objective Lens:
10x, 20x, 40x, 100x
Used to magnify objects on the stage
Stage:
Holds slide
Condenser:
Lightbulb below the stage
Fine Adjustment Knob:
Provides dune tuning of focus
Coarse Adjustment Knob:
Allows stage to be raised/lowered for quick focus
Calculating magnification power:
Eyepiece is 10x * objective lens amount
Example- 10x (eyepiece) x 40x (objective lens) = 400x total
Using 100x-
When using 100x you need to use immersion out to lessen refraction of light
