1810-1825



Revolting reasons: 

  • trade restrictions, could only trade with the motherland. 

  • high taxes they had to pay

  • ridgid colonial social structure that limited rights and privileges 

  • very little autonomy

Nationalism

Definition of nationalism is pride in a country, or nation

  • Nationalism can be a unifying force or a divisive force 

  • A group of people who share a common history, culture, or language and who live in the same area
