Vertical Oscillation

Figure 1 shows a block of mass $m$ hanging from a spring and oscillating vertically.

Figure 2 shows a graph of the block's height $h$ above the floor as a function of time $t$.

The block oscillates with a period $T$ in the range $0.8h<em>{max} \leq h \leq h</em>{max}$, where $h_{max}$ is the maximum height reached by the block.

Figure 3 represents the block at three different times: $t = \frac{T}{4}, t = \frac{T}{2}$, and $t = T$.
