Background: Part of the Bolshevik Party

Rose to Power: Got rid of the communist threat on government and Lenin died so Stalin took his place

Description: Always clean, wearing light colors, perfect, god-like (cult of personality)

Goal: Rapid Industrialization 

Political Control: The state controls everything, one party in government only, the Soviet Union above all people

Secret police: NKVD, went through the mail, listened to phone calls, etc. 

Party/system: Communist 

Religion: Atheist. Churches, Synygouhs etc., were burned, and priestly people were executed

Military: Terror, Great Purge- old Bolshevik party, unloyal to Stalin, rebellious peasants, scientists, and academics targeted and sent to forced labor camps (Gulags) or killed

Education: Communist party + Stalin in documentation (rewrote history)
Youth: Military Youth Groups created a DEVOUTED LOYAL generation

Censorship/Propaganda: Censorship, Radio, and film spread propaganda, “Stalin is like a god.”

Economic Control: Industry- 5-year plan: created for business growth, government-owned all businesses and created a set quota. If the quota wasn’t met, then there would be harsh punishments, such as death. People lied so they wouldn't die. This led to low-quality goods.  Agriculture- Collectivization: The government controlled all farms, and people were forced to work on farms. All goods were collected by the government. This created a decline in agricultural productivity and famine. 

Social Control: Censorship and control over media, education, and religion

Minorities: Russification of the Republic- minority groups, history, and cultures oppressed. Everyone must be atheist and Russian.
