Lungs

Trachea: wind pipe which is the trachea come down from the mouth

Bronchi: trachea splits into the bronchi which is called branches

Bronchioles: the bronchi then splits into bronchioles. Which are little branches and our tough and carry area the air to from the lungs

Aveoli: are at the end of the bronchioles , and are encovered by a capillary network (small vessel. Which takes oxygen away from them and carbon dioxide:

Rib cage: protects the whole lungs

Intercostal muscles: in between the rib cage which helps with breathing

Pleural membrane: seperates the lungs from the rib cage

Parietal pleura: connected to the rib cage

Visceral Pleura: Protection: Shields the lungs by forming a protective covering. Secretes Pleural Fluid which Produces a small amount of pleural fluid, which is found in the pleural cavity (the space between the visceral and parietal pleura).

Pleural Fluid:Reduces friction during lung expansion and contraction.Helps the lungs stick to the chest wall, ensuring they expand properly during breathing.

pleural cavity: is the potential space between the visceral pleura (on the lungs) and the parietal pleura (lining the chest wall). If air or fluid accumulates here (e.g., pneumothorax or pleural effusion), it can impair lung function.
