Your Team

  • You need to put a lot of effort in building your “Launch” Team

    • Launch emphasized, because your original group isn’t always going to be your core. Some people God just send to help you for a year.

    • God will send you scaffolding to build the building, once the building is built, the scaffold will need to come off.

  • How to build your team.

    • It’s a process you never stop doing. Even after your church is launched. Scan the room and look for relationships.

    • Be suspicious of relationships, ask why do I like a person so much? Perhaps it’s God. Look for relationships that you will enjoy and get a lot done with.

      • John Maxwell on 17 Laws on Teamwork.

    • ARC approves based on your ability to create a draw a team. More money as well based on your ability to draw people. If you can’t build a team, then you can’t build a church.

      • This is a learnable ability.

  • 4 types relationships you ought to look for

    • 1. Potential value.

      • They have undeveloped abilities (young people). Be like Jesus, look for people with potential. Doesn’t have to have it all together.

      • Don’t look for the perfect person. Don’t be afraid to use young people.

    • 2. Positive Value

      • People who have great attitude. People who are fun and light up the room. Find someone who have this ability you can grow a church.

      • You need to become this.

    • 3. Personal Value

      • You don’t know why you love them but you do. You are drawn to them spiritually.  It might be the Spirit of God working.

    • 4. Production Value

      • People who just get things done.

  • How do you build the “Dream Team”?

    • Leadership is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to make something extraordinary to happen.
