Working Memory Model

Working Memory Model:

  • Baddeley and Hitch created the working memory model to explain the short term memory.

The WMM is made up of three key components,

  • the first component is the central executive which manages your attention and separates the information you observe into three ‘slave stores’.

  •  The second area is the phonological loop which retains language based information.

  •  The last is the visual-spatial sketchpad which retains visual and spatial information.
