Conduction, Convection, and Radiation

Conduction → Solids

1.) WHen you heat particles, they vibrate faster (gain kinetic energy)

2.) The vibrating particles collide with neighbouring particles, transferring energy

3.) Conduction can only happen from physical contact

Convection → Fluids (liquids / gases)

1.) Water is heated, becoming less dense, so it rises

2.) Water is cooled, becoming more dense, so it falls

Radiation

-Shiny white → Bad absorber and emitter of infrared radiation

- Matte Black → Good absorber and emitter of infrared radiation

(Emitter = giving out)
