Areas in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of the most modern cities in Asia. It’s always fast-paced and is known as the “heaven for shopping,” with many stores and shopping centers. Hong Kong has 18 districts divided into four parts: Hong Kong island, the Kowloon peninsula, the New Territories, and other outlying islands.

Places to Go

My favorite area is Tsim Sha Tui in Kowloon. It has the best fine-dining restaurants here. I remember attending a birthday celebration of my family’s friend there. It was extravagant. There are also many “dai pai dongs (street food stalls)” in this area. I sometimes eat dim sum here with my friends.

Dim Sum Galore

Hong Kong is known for its endless list of dim sum items people can enjoy. Dim sum items are placed in small bamboo steamers. Waiters/waitresses will place these steamers in carts and push them around among tables to offer to customers. Sometimes the carts are even heated to keep the dim sum warm. I have many favorites dim sum items. On the top of the list are shrimp dumplings, pork Siu Mai, steamed chicken feet, pan-fried turnip cake, beef noodle rolls, and so many more.
