Formation
The future tense in Spanish is formed by adding endings to the infinitive of the verb.
These endings are the same for -ar, -er, and -ir verbs.
The endings are:
-é
-ás
-á
-emos
-éis
-án
Irregular Verbs
Some verbs have irregular stems in the future tense. Here are some examples:
Tener (to have) → Tendr-
Haber (to have, auxiliary verb) → Habr-
Salir (to leave) → Saldr-
Poner (to put) → Pondr-
Poder (to be able to) → Podr-
Venir (to come) → Vendr-
Querer (to want) → Querr-
Decir (to say/tell) → Dir-
Saber (to know) → Sabr-
Caber (to fit) → Cabr-
Conjugation
To conjugate these irregular verbs, you add the future tense endings to the new stem. For example:
Tener: Tendré, Tendrás, Tendrá, Tendremos, Tendréis, Tendrán.
