Building yourself | A person’s character is a personal brand. A person’s brand should be the overflow of who they actually are, not the substitute for who they have not yet become, but we live in a culture that rewards the appearance more than the substance. So people invest in appearance before they invest in developing themselves. Your body is the first business given to you yet most people are neglecting it Your mind is the most valuable asset you own yet most people are starving it Your character is the only thing that compounds without risk yet most people ignore building it for moments that depreciate their time and money such as their appearance. Build the person first the brand will follow, take care of the mind the money will follow, take care of the body the confidence will follow. Let everything you do reflect the person that you have built. Everything you are chasing externally is a reflection of the things you have not yet built internally, which creates a gap between your best version of yourself and the one that appears the best temporarily. No amount of fake appearance can remove that gap, you need to build a foundation, the brand on top of nothing is just performance, it may look good for a season but seasons end, and when that image fades the only thing that’s left is the person that’s underneath so make sure they’re worth something, build a foundation for yourself, so that when the brand comes on top of everything you’ve built its not temporary, but legacy. |
Losing people | God will shrink your circle right before He multiplies your victory. When things you thought were guaranteed and felt completely right for you are removed without explanation its in our nature to doubt ourselves. You start to think if maybe something is wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you, something is happening for you. He’s clearing the room to make room for multiplication, to prepare you to take a step into something greater on the other side of the loss. So don’t panic, this isn’t a season of losing, its a season of pruning. |
Not knowing where to start with all this information, how to live a simple life | Two men are fishing on 2 different lakes on their boats. the first man is in a pretty small lake only 1 or 2 kinds of fish are in the lake and he knows that they’re pretty good quality to catch, he spends a couple hours catches 3 fish and goes home happy. The 2nd man is in another lake thats enormously huge, there’s 100’s of types of fish there yet he knows that some are very low quality than others yet he would still have to spend a couple hours fishing hoping that whatever gets caught is good quality, he makes sure to find where the best spots in the lake are and buys the best bait that attracts the best fish, at the end of the day he catches maybe 1 good quality one and then 2 low quality ones and he goes home frustrated. In a modern era with so much information being thrown at you that’s so easily accessible its hard to know where to start. It can be incredibly overwhelming and we begin this cycle of overthinking, making sure everything is perfectly planned out before starting, making sure that you won’t waste time or effort by pursuing it, and then you spend all this energy to finally start and its maybe good for 10 minutes and then you stop, you’ve drained yourself and you can’t seem to understand why you wanted to do this in the first place. Everytime we pursue earthly things its always in the back of our minds measuring how much will I get from this and how much time, effort, resources do I have to use to get. Going back to the fish story both men spent the same amount of time caught the same amount of fish but the quality of the fish were different and it influenced their peace. But the 1st one focused on a smaller scale that blocked out all the variety of options and pursued until he caught something. Let’s take that one step further, what if these men were kids, a kid wouldn’t frustrate himself going over wether this is the perfect spot with perfect fish he just wants to fish, he’ll stick his hand in the water trying to grab them if he has to. Whatever he finds he’ll be happy wether it turned out the best quality or not because he caught a fish. And he’ll want to go as many days as he can to keep finding more and more fish. God teaches us to pursue everything with the simple eye of a child. You need to find your why make that strong connection to what you’re actually looking for and you won’t care how long it takes and you’ll move on to the next source if you don’t find what you’re looking Also you need to know how to hold what you’ve caught, once you've caught something, hold it loosely too. Not everything you catch is meant to stay in your life and you need to make sure not to hold emotional connections to anything just because you spent some time in pursuing it, because if its good for you you will see its fruit and keep it, if not take it away. Simple. “The bad fruit he takes away, but the good fruit He prunes that it may bear more fruit, you are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you“ We need to remember always that we have already been given God’s grace we just haven’t decided to recieve it today, because a life with God is not a one time affirmation, its a question that’s asked to you every single day and in his love he gives you the freedom to choose to live your life in his grace, to see in his eyes. Even if you sinned so much or your feel like your life is full of anxiety where at certain points you think your life is as good as dead, he can raise you from the dead. |
