Q1: Epigentic effects are changes in how genes are expressed without altering the DNA sequence.

Quoted from the textbook “environmental factors alter gene expression in ways that can be passed down to offspring. They allow the environment and life experiences to influence how our genes function.

Basically this can affect if they could survive in warmer water.

Q2: recovered through rediscovery and strict protection and habitat restoration. David Wingate used breeding programs for them.

Q3: rehabilitation to rebuild a community to a functioning state even if it isn’t its original condition. Re creation is to contruct an entirely new ecosystem on a degraded site. Relocation is to use land for a new and different purpose

DQ2:

How would you balance human preferences with biological considerations.

I’d find a way to balance both in ways like landscapes meeting humans preference for beuaty and cost and utility while still maintaining biodiversity and the ecosystem.

I’d plan for long term sustainability and create environments that support people and the ecosystem. I’d use green roofs, rain gardens, and parks for native plants for both aesthetic but also low cost and support of environmental conservation. Planning for more community gardens and restoration projects that promote the ecosystem while also maintaining beauty of the land. I’d ask the community what they think for things that are both useful and aesthetically pleasing but still protect biodiversity because community voices should be heard as well.
