Kinesiology — the study of human movement

Exercise Science — focuses on 2 main components:

  • how the body moves

  • how exercising affects how the body moves and functions

Physical Activity vs. Exercise vs. Sport

Physical Activity — activities of daily living including all movement that humans preform

Exercise — structured movement process for the purpose of improving fitness and performance

Sport — movement in structured and organized activities that involve a competitive aspect
