- Irregular verbs do not follow regular conjugation rules, and they must be memorized. It is important to note that for irregular verbs, there are no accent marks.

- The verbs oír, creer, leer, caer, destruir, construir, and incluir are irregular in the usted/él/ella and ustedes/ellos/ellas forms.
- Verbs ending in -uir do not have accent marks on tú, nosotros, or Uds. forms.

Stem Changers

El Pretérito
- The preterite (el pretérito) is one of two past tenses in Spanish.
When Do We Use the Preterite?
To express that an action is complete or happened once.
- Example: Ayer dormí por 8 horas - "Yesterday I slept for 8 hours."
- Example: Yo fui a California el año pasado - "I went to California last year."
To express the beginning of an action.
- Example: Estaba viendo la tele cuando empezó a llover - "I was watching TV when it began to rain."
For actions that occurred during a specific time period.
- Example: Yo viví dos años en España - "I lived in Spain for two years."
For actions that are part of a series of events.
- Example: Me desperté, me duché, desayuné y fui a la escuela - "I woke up, showered, ate breakfast, and went to school."
