excerpt on the person you love the most: Ariel has been my best friend since birth. She’s always made me laugh and she never holds back with her honesty. She challenges me to become better and I always know when I talk to her i’ll have a good time. She always will have my back and tell me when i’m in the wrong.

what is friendship about

• is friendship selfish?

  • is the purpose of friendship to get something out of them or out of each other

  • if your friends with someone because they make you laugh, that makes it selfish since you’re gaining (laughter) something out of the connection

Hobbes is viewed as a part of dark philosophy

• Hobbes argues that we are NOT political creatures, rather we are made fit for society by education

What does “politcal” mean

• polis- Greek for city (having to do with living in a city or society)

Altruism

• the acction aimed at producing good for someone other than the agent. conflicts w egoism

• egoism - the belief that ones self should be it’s own motivation

Humans are social beings that live in society

• by our nature we are social

Book of Genesis

• creation of adam

  • god said it wasn’t good for man to be alone

  • made eve from adam’s rib

  • it’s not good for us to be alone so that’s why other humans exist to fuffill our social need

How Christians view God Vs other religions

• have imagery of their figures

• believe in the holy trinity (trinitarian view)
