Overview of Professional Development Requirements

  • Professional development requirements for the leadership and professional development course must receive a grade of complete to pass.

  • Requirements are listed on Canvas under course resource documents; students encouraged to review them carefully.

Dean's Hour Participation

  • Attend all scheduled Dean's Hour sessions during the semester.

  • Must sign in at each session and remain present to receive credit for attendance.

  • Makeup sessions are required for any missed sessions, arranged through the Office of Student Services.

Adviser Program Requirements (Winter Term)

  • Complete two adviser program requirements:

    • Submission of Advisor Rx updated documents to SharePoint.

    • Completion of Meeting 2 with the faculty adviser.

  • LinkedIn Profile Update:

    • Post updated profile to SharePoint by February 15th for final adviser approval.

    • Approved profile must be posted to FolioRx by March 15th.

  • All documents must be posted and meetings completed by their due dates for a grade of complete.

Co-Curricular Requirements

  • Two main tasks must be completed:

    • Experiences logged through Events Rx, as specified in the table under the blue column.

    • Complete Co-Curricular End of Year Reflection in Student Rx.

  • Both tasks are due by March 1st. Additional guidelines available on Canvas.

Professional Growth Reflection

  • Reflect on professional growth based on experiences throughout the year.

  • Submission guidelines and the form are available on Canvas.

  • Reflection due on March 15th and must be submitted to FolioRx.

FolioRx Artifact Submission

  • List of required artifacts can be accessed through the student's FolioRx account.

  • Artifacts must be:

    • In PDF format

    • File names under 20 characters.

  • Checklist for artifacts must be completed by March 31st; only checked artifacts will be considered submitted.

Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

  • Assessment done outside the course but counted in the leadership and professional development course.

  • Scheduled in April; a minimum passing score is required for a grade of complete.

Additional Information

  • Students must review guidelines thoroughly and understand expectations and deadlines.

  • Complete the professional development requirements video quiz in Canvas and submit by the due date.
