Skeleton

Appendicular skeleton upper limb :

  • Pectoral girdle

Appendicular Skelton lower limb:

  • pelvic girdle

  • Pelvis is supportive and protective and doesn’t move as much as pectoral girdle

Joints:

  • fibrous joints are stiffer

  • If we want movement, we need synovial joint

  • Sterner povicular (like the joint between clavicle sad menuvium) we don’t want it to move

  • hinge joints allow Flexion and extension (like in fingers)

  • Pivot joint allows u to say no

  • Saddle joints allow u to move side to side

  • Ball and socket joint is like in shoulder

Muscles:

  • skeletal muscle needs to be present thats pullimg and contracting at joints

  • Moves bones too

  • Muscles can attach directly to bone or indirectly via tendons, fascia or organ

  • Superficial Fascia is loose connective tissue that’s embedded into subcutaneous layer

  • Superficial fascia allows skin to move easily and is a safety layer for skin. MAINTAINS SHAPE.

  • Deep fascia gives support. Innervated so can sense pain and movement and pressure, temp etc.

  • Muscle compartment- groups of muscles surrounded by deep fascia that have similar functions and also share same neurovascukar supply.

  • Sometimes deep fascia becomes thickened

Dorsiflexion is flexing foot up. Plantarflexion is standing on toes

Inversion is big toe up litttle toe on ground. Eversion is big toe down little toe up.
