1. Cherry Red Color of the Skin (Erythema)

  • Excessive hemoglobin due to (CCM):

    • Cyanide intoxication

  • Dilation of cutaneous vasculature due to (AH):

    • Anticholinergics

    • Histamine release

  • Medications (e.g., Rifampicin) producing a pigment.

2. Kussmaul Respiration

• Definition: An abnormal breathing pattern characterized by rapid, deep breathing at a consistent pace (which usually occur in response to metabolic acidosis)

• Associated Substances (SAC):

  • Salicylates

  • Acetanilide

  • Cinchophen

3. Garlic Odor of the Breath

• Causes (ADMPYS):

  • Arsenic

  • Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO)

  • Malathion

  • Parathion

  • Yellow phosphorus

  • Selenium
