Maternal Anatomical Changes

• Uterus:
  • Changes in size, shape, and position to accommodate the growing fetus.
  • Increased contractility to prepare for labor.
  • Enhanced uteroplacental blood flow for fetal nutrient and oxygen supply.
  • Uterine sounds (funic souffle) may indicate fetal heartbeat.

Reproductive System Changes

• Uterus:
  • Ballottement: A technique where the fetus can be pushed and felt returning.
