Documentation Needed
Documentation Folder: Ensure all relevant safety and emergency documents, including the DGK + Doc 9481 (Red Book), are correctly located.
Abnormal & Emergency Procedures Checklist
General Emergency Procedures
Slow Decompression:
Turn on cabin lights.
Notify Cockpit.
Grab oxygen bottles, as needed.
Check lavatories and passengers.
Rapid or Explosive Decompression:
Grab and don an oxygen mask immediately.
Stop trolleys and take a seat.
Verify cabin lights.
Remain seated until the emergency descent ends.
Oxygen Supply Procedures
To Passenger:
Check vital signs.
Administer oxygen mask by loosening tight clothing.
Notify cockpit.
Ensure oxygen does not fall below 200 psi.
General Fire Fighting Procedures
Fight the fire immediately and coordinate actions.
Establish communication with the cockpit.
Disconnect electrical power in the affected area.
Use extinguishers, PBE, fireproof gloves, etc.
Remove oxygen bottles and flammable items from the area.
Specific Fire Situations
Fire in Lavatories:
Notify Cockpit immediately to disconnect power.
Fight fire if the door is cold, using caution.
Fire in Oven: Disconnect oven, notify cockpit, and extinguish as necessary.
Lithium Battery Fires: Inform cockpit and manage using proper extinguishing techniques.
Emergency Landing Procedures
Foreseen Emergency Landing
Brief SCCM and crew on:
Nature of the emergency.
Time remaining and special instructions.
Prepare galleys and secure all items.
Ensure clear communication regarding passenger preparedness for landing.
Ditching Emergency Procedures
Confirm that the ditching briefing is communicated to all crew members.
Ensure that life vests and safety equipment are nearby before the process is initiated.
Instruct passengers on correct procedures for evacuations through the wing exits.
Language & Communication Protocols
Emergency announcements must be made in multiple languages for passenger understanding, including English, Spanish, Italian, and French, ensuring clear communication.
Document procedures for each language in cases of emergency situations, revealing necessary instructions and actions for both the passengers and crew.
Post-Emergency or Evacuation Procedures
Post evacuation, check all areas of the cabin and cockpit.
Move passengers to safety away from the aircraft, maintaining order and preventing re-entry.
Crew Responsibilities
Ensure proper duties in emergencies, including roles for SCCM, CCM2, CCM3, and CCM4, confirming they know their evacuation and equipment check responsibilities.
