Drugs to Avoid in Pregnancy

  • Common Contraindicated Drugs:

    • NSAIDs:

      • Aspirin: Can cause bleeding issues and affect fetal development.

    • Certain Antibiotics:

    • Benzodiazepines:

      • Clonazepam: Risk of neonatal withdrawal syndrome and potential harmful effects on fetal brain development.

      • Retin-A: Used for acne, has teratogenic effects and can cause serious birth defects.
