Architectural Painting Styles:

  • 1st Style: Masonry Style, made to look like Marble, painted, polychromic masonry
  • 2nd Style: Walls opened up by illusionistic paintings of landscapes
  • 3rd Style: Celebrating wall space, small emblems
  • 4th Style: 3rd Style + 2nd Style, emblem scenes and illusionistic space, busy

    ## Other Styles/ Forms:
  • Mosaic: made out of small different colored stones that are cubed
  • Tessera/Tesserae: the small stones used to create mosaics
  • Most mosaics are made using drawings created specifically for them
    • ie Dogs, floral patterns, geometric designs
