Short sentences, Dependent clauses, repetition throughout of what. Full stops pause of mindset, stative verb ‘what;’, love =abstract noun, I want= imperative, Rhetorical questions ‘Why am I still scared?’

first person pronoun has elements of realism and immediacy,

frequent anaphora to create a rhetorical effect e.g. what to hate, what to rage about

Frequent repetition and parallelism which depicts emotional depth, what to wear in the morning… what to wear every morning

Rhetorical question to convey the extent of the character’s despair, e.g. Why am I still scared?

Phonological features such as alliteration and sibilance highlight particuarly important messages, e.g. ‘live my life’ and ‘still scared’

Punctuation signals pauses, such as the use of ellipsis.
