BRD and Subatomic particles
Atomic Structure
Atom Parts
- Nucleus, contains the positive protons and the neutral neutrons
- Electron orbitals, contains the negative electrons
- The proton and the neutron are about the same mass, while the electron is about 1/2000th the mass of the other particles
Atomic Key
- Atomic number = amount of protons = amount of electrons
- Atomic mass = number of protons + number of neutrons
- Neutrons = atomic mass - atomic number
Maximum number of electrons in each orbital
- Orbital 1: 2
- Orbital 2: 8
- Orbital: 8
- Orbital 4: 18
The subatomic particle other protons that can be found in the nucleus are called neutrons.
Hydrogen doesn’t have neutrons
