Section 2.25.1: Disrespect to a Supervisor
Policy Statement: Employees are prohibited from engaging in conduct that is deemed disrespectful, insolent, or abusive towards a supervisor.
Section 2.25.2: Disrespect to a Subordinate
Policy Statement: Supervisors are prohibited from engaging in conduct that is considered abusive, oppressive, or tyrannical towards a subordinate.
Section 2.25.3: Disrespect to a Co-Worker
Policy Statement: Employees are prohibited from engaging in conduct that is deemed disrespectful, insolent, or abusive towards a co-worker.
Section 2.25.4: Insubordination
Definition of Insubordination:
Insubordination occurs when employees do not promptly obey a supervisor's lawful orders.
The following orders are included as lawful:
Orders directly given by a supervisor.
Orders relayed from a supervisor by another employee of the same or lesser rank.
Orders from an Internal Affairs investigator during an official investigation.
Clarification of Lawful Orders:
A lawful order is defined as an order which employees should reasonably believe pertains to the performance of their duties.
Behavior Considered Insubordination:
Disobeying a lawful order.
Engaging in conduct towards a supervisor that is deemed disrespectful, mutinous, insolent, or abusive.
