Epithelium slide
hemidesmosomes- bottom
desmosomes- sides
tight junctions- top sides
adheron- sides, on contracting muscles
gap junctions- space between nervous, and muscle tissue
dermis and or connective tissue- can bleed
junctions have to disconnect and form new junctions in transitional epithelium tissue
Master notes page3- in microscope piece you will only see apical view of simple squamous, but in a photograph it can be on either side
simple squamous- looks like fish eggs
cuboidal- how to find it, find lumen, find shape, find # of layers
Columnar- find lumen, find shape, is it ciliated, then # of layers
pseudostratified- (called pseudostratified/ silliated or non/ columnar) - on the microscope it will only be ciliated, but in the pictures it can be either
page 5 bottom/ 6 top- goblet cells- can only be in columnar, so once you see know its columnar
PAGE 7 TOP- when doing practicum, when seeing stratified squamous thats keratinized, the bottom has to be dense irregular
page 7- bottom, might be mistaken as transitional
the outer layer of stratified anything doesn’t have to match the inner layer
PAGE 9- this is what strafified columnar looks like
page 10- top imaage is usally confused with squamous- you know its transitonal because the nucleai are NOT flat
Connective tissue
LOOSE:
color matters: pink
Areolar- first row, looks like thread and needles, going to be magenta
adipose- shcok absorve store energy; looks like the apical view of simple squamous however the DIFFERENCE is nucleous is on the edge. Looks like bbbles
reticular- colors pink, magenta, blac, looks like branches
DENSE:
irregular- looks like mixing pain/ scheeta
regular- looks like ramen, pink & white, or yellow and white
elastic CT, looks like bacon or lasagna
CARTILAGE:
hayline- have large lacunae
elastic- have big lacunae but has fibers that look like eyelashes
fibrocartilage- small lacunae, comes in small groups
OSSEOUS:
bone- looks like tree ring
Blood/ lypmth:
blood cells- looks like cherreos
muscle tissue
Smooth muscle- mistaked for dense regular, or dense irregular. It has more structure than dense irrelgular but less than regular
Cardicac- striated, looks like steak
skeletal- looks like fish, striated
Nervous tissue:
neuron- you will only see this in pictures
