Round Decimals
Rounding Process
Identify the Place to Round To
Determine which decimal place you want to round to (tenths, hundredths, etc.).
Underline the digit in that place.
Examine the Digit to the Right
Look at the digit immediately to the right of the underlined place.
This digit determines whether you round up or keep the same value:
If it's 5 or more, round up.
If it's 4 or less, keep the digit the same.
Final Answer
Cut off the decimal after the rounded place.
Note: Zeros to the right of the decimal do not change its value.
