Atom- Building block, smallest piece of an element

Molecule-2 or more atoms bonded together

Particle- An individual piece of matter (can be atom or molecule)

Pure substance- All the particles in a sample are the same

Mixture- There are different particles in a sample

Element- Made of all the same molecules

Compounds- Molecules made of different atoms bonded together

Sublimation is when a solid moves directly to a gas

Deposition is when a gas moves directly to a solid

Atomic Number- number of protons

Mass Number- protons+nuetrons
