Parable of the Pot and God's Tabernacle: Key Concepts and Messengers
Parable of the Pot
Two types of pots are discussed:
Satan's Pot (Encrusted Pot):
Referenced in Ezekiel 24:3-6, described as an encrusted pot.
Micah 3:1-3, 11 links leaders and rulers to this pot, representing people's flesh.
Matthew 23:25-28 associates it with scribes, Pharisees, greed, and self-indulgence.
God's Pot (Holy Pot):
Zechariah 8:3 refers to it as the City of Truth.
Zechariah 14:20-21 calls it a Holy Pot.
Revelation 15:5 mentions the Temple of the Tabernacle of Testimony.
Reality of the Pot
God's Pot (Holy Pot) corresponds to God's Church:
First Coming (FC): Represents Jesus and his disciples.
Second Coming (SC): Represents God's church with the word of truth.
Satan's Pot (Encrusted Pot) corresponds to Satan's Church:
First Coming (FC): Represents PSTs (Pharisees, Sadducees, Teachers of the law).
Second Coming (SC): Represents Satan's church with false truth.
God's Tabernacle
Definition:
1 Chronicles 6:48 defines the Tabernacle as God's house, where God dwells.
It also represents the gathering of God's people (Assembly, Church).
Furthermore, it symbolizes the Kingdom of Heaven.
Structure (Hebrews 9:1-5):
The first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly sanctuary.
The Tabernacle was divided into two rooms:
Holy Place (Outer Room): Contained the lampstand, the table with consecrated bread.
Most Holy Place (Inner Room): Located behind the second curtain, contained the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant.
The ark held the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover.
Key Components and Their Locations:
Outer Area: Water basin, Altar of Sacrifice
Holy Place: Table of consecrated bread (12), Golden lampstand (7), Censer
Most Holy Place: Ark of Covenant, Atonement Cover, Cherubim, Stone Tablets, Aaron's Staff, Jar of Manna.
Separation: Curtain/Veil, Altar of Incense
Significance:
Exodus 25:8-9 indicates that the tabernacle is established on Earth.
Hebrews 8:5 states that the Tabernacle is a copy and shadow of the heavenly one.
Hebrews 9:9-10 suggests that it is a prophecy and illustration (parable) revealing secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The meaning can only be understood at the right time (Revelation 4).
Temple as Person:
1 Corinthians 3:9, 16 equates the Temple to a person.
Jesus is associated with the Most Holy Place (MHP).
1 Corinthians 3:16: “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”
Fulfillment:
The Tabernacle is a copy and shadow of KOH (Prophecy).
Reality of KOH (Luke 24:44 Fulfillment).
Jar of manna: John 6:41
Aaron's staff: Numbers 1:1-5, 8
Stone tablets: Luke 20:17
Two Kinds of Messengers
Old Testament Prophecy:
Malachi 3:1:
Messenger who prepares the way (MPW).
Messenger of the Covenant (MC).
Malachi 4:5-6:
Prophet Elijah.
Turn hearts of parents to children and vice versa.
First Coming Fulfillment:
Matthew 17:10-13:
Disciples asked if Elijah must come first.
Jesus answered that Elijah has already come and can be recognized as John the Baptist.
Luke 1:13-17:
An angel said to Zechariah that his wife Elizabeth will bear a son named John.
John will bring back many to the Lord and go before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah.
He will turn the hearts of parents to their children and make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Matthew 3:13-15:
Jesus came to be baptized by John.
John initially tried to deter him, but Jesus insisted to fulfill all righteousness.
The Spirit of Elijah worked through John the Baptist to turn hearts.
John 1:26-27:
John said, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know. He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
John 5:35:
John was a lamp that burned and gave light.
The Role of the Lampstand is to shine the dim light in the Holy Place to prepare the way to the Most Holy Place.
