About the CARE Awards
Purpose: Recognizes companies that adopt exemplary mental well-being practices in the workplace and promotes them as employers of choice.
Selection Process: Award recipients are selected based on ranked workplace safety and health (WSH) performance and achievements; simply meeting criteria does not guarantee an award.
Award Panel's Rights: The panel may confer one award to companies with multiple identical applications if outcomes or achievements cited do not vary.
Qualifying Period: 1 January 2024 - 31 December 2024.
Criteria for Eligibility
Workplace Safety Record: No fatalities and major injuries across all worksites.
Compliance with Legislation: No breaches in workplace safety and health or labour matters.
Mental Well-being Policy: Companies must have an established policy and system.
WSH Reporting Subscription: Subscription to Ministry of Manpower’s WSH alert service for incident reporting is required.
Breach Definition: Includes Stop Work Orders, surveillance programs, and prosecution related to WSH Act excluding COVID-19 matters.
Evaluation
All supporting documents and data will undergo verification and assessment.
Interview
Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview to demonstrate their mental well-being practices.
Scheduled between May and June 2025.
Disqualification Criteria
An application may be disqualified if:
A workplace accident occurs resulting in a fatality, major injury, Dangerous Occurrence, or a legal infringement.
The applicant presents inaccurate or misleading documents.
The applicant withdraws or amends any WSH Incident Report during the application period.
Application Process
Check Eligibility: Confirm eligibility and prepare necessary information.
Prepare Required Sections: Include Company’s Details, Mental Well-being Initiatives, and Evidence-Based Assessment.
Submit Application: Follow online submission via OneDrive, ensuring support documents are included.
Submit Deadline: Applications must be uploaded by 2 April 2025, 6 PM.
Important Dates
Qualifying Period: 1 January 2024 - 31 December 2024.
Submission Deadline: 2 April 2025.
Awards Ceremony: September 2025 (date TBA).
Part 1: Company’s Details
Requirements: Company name (as per UEN), Unique Entity Number (UEN), address, SSIC Code, and industry classification.
Industry Categories: Construction, Manufacturing, Marine, Transportation & Storage, Accommodation & Food Service, Administrative & Support Service, Health & Social Services, Professional, Scientific & Technical, Real Estate, Wholesale & Retail, Other.
Contact Persons: Primary and alternative contact details need to be provided.
Part 2: Workplace Mental Well-being Initiatives
Implementation: Comprehensive measures favorably evaluated (not mandatory).
Questions to Address:
Total WSH approach adoption.
Structured peer support system establishment.
Training of Peer Supporters.
Use of iWorkHealth or equivalent tools last year.
Appointment of Workplace Mental Well-being Champion.
Membership in the Well-being Champions Network.
Part 3: Evidence-Based Assessment
Submissions Specifications:
Font: Arial, size 11, Line spacing: 1.5.
Length: Do not exceed three pages.
Assessment Questions:
Describe current mental well-being initiatives (training, access to resources).
Discuss fostering a psychologically safe culture.
Outline monitoring effectiveness of initiatives (including iWorkHealth results).
Communication of initiatives to stakeholders.
Report tangible benefits from implemented initiatives.
Employee contributions and roles in mental well-being efforts.
Achievements Over Past Three Years
List and describe initiatives, achievements, and improvements related to workplace stressors. Specific examples and quantifiable results should be included.
Terms and Conditions
All applications must be submitted fully completed via OneDrive before the deadline for consideration.
The WSH Council is not liable for lost or incomplete applications.
All decisions made by the WSH Council are final and will be communicated by end August 2025, with recipients announced in September 2025.
Recipients consent to the WSH Council sharing details with third parties for the purpose of promoting the awards.
