Context
Paganism- was around before Christianity and Christmas was developed from a pagan festival in which green plants were popular as they were ever-green and lived long lives. They worshipped a God called the Green Man who believed in everything being plentiful to gain more one must give more, for example on such occasions like Christmas you should enjoy everything you have and pend money to buy food and celebrate as it is important not to worry about such minor things
True Christian Families- these families were meant to celebrate and enjoy themselves on Christmas no matter how little or how much they had, as God in the end would always give back more then you donated, the idea was to celebrate and appreciate what you have, eating a traditional lunch all together as a family, being with close loved ones
Children and Purity- babies when born were seen to be the most puree, innocent, blessed and holy things as they had just been sent down from God therefore were the closest with him and had more off a connection with him than anyone else, this only stopped once they were ruined by society and its teaching, society is the cause for their look of purity and close connection with God as it turns them into people that it can use
Society- in the Jacobean Era one of the biggest problems with society especially thee high upper class rich bourgeoisie was that they were ignorant towards the poor claiming they were drunkards and lazy, not bothering to try get jobs, also they were extremely greedy as they fed on capitalism, which increased their power and profit until they poor had nothing and they had everything, they were selfish, although ignorance towards others was societies biggest failing/ flaw/ problem
