    • Definition: A sculpting method that involves removing material to produce a sculptural form.

  • Additive Sculpture

    • Definition: A sculpting process in which the artist builds a form by adding material.

  • Cast Sculpture

    • Definition: A sculpture made by pouring a liquid material into a mold.

  • Armature

    • Definition: The framework or skeleton that supports a sculpture.

  • Assemblage

    • Definition: Artwork created from three-dimensional materials, including found objects.

  • Kinetic Art

    • Definition: Art that is usually three-dimensional and includes moving parts.

  • Post and Beam

    • Definition: A horizontal beam supported at each end by vertical posts or walls.

  • Arch

    • Definition: A semicircular form supported by colonnades, used to create great spans.
