Purpose: Establishment of a unique local committee for biomedical research and health within GHU Paris-Saclay.
Date: September - October 2020.
Existing Committees
Prior Structure: Two local research committees existed prior to reform:
South Sector:
CLRBS (Comité Local de Recherche Biomédicale et de Santé) based on CRMBSP (Comité de recherche biomédicale et de santé publique).
President: Pr Marc HUMBERT.
West Sector:
Formed in 2019 through the merger of CLRBS and SIRU (Service de Recherche Universitaire).
President: Pr David ORLIKOWSKI.
January 30, 2020: Common meeting held, leading to the decision to form a single biomedical research committee.
Committee Composition (
Representatives from GHU Paris-Saclay:
4 representatives chosen by DGHU and PCMEL following COMEX and CMEL advice.
University Representatives:
4 representatives: 2 from each university involved in GHU, including one from the scientific council of medicine UFR.
Research Organizations:
4 representatives from research organizations associated with GHU, appointed by INSERM's general director based on regional delegate recommendations.
Duration: Each member holds a 2-year term, which is renewable.
Elections: The committee elects its president.
Permanent Invitees and Additional Members
Permanent invitees include:
15 research referents from DMUs (Départements Médico-Universitaires).
Deans of the faculties, PCMEL, DGHU, the CERI (Coordination for Education and Research Innovations).
General Coordinator of Care (CGS) and several representatives from structures supporting research (URC, CRC, CIC IT, CRB).
Regional INSERM delegate, Vice President of research at the university.
Misión of the Committee
Coordination: Oversee biomedical and health research across GHU, interfacing with two universities and research organisms.
Policy Identification: Examine research policies in health from partners and components of GHU Paris-Saclay.
Consultation Role: Involvement in discussing various research-related projects, including:
Policy framework concerning biomedical research reflecting establishment project.
Biomedical research projects of DMUs.
Modifications and renewals of agreements with universities.
Evaluations: Prepare evaluations for HCERES (Haut Conseil de l'Évaluation de la Recherche et de l'Enseignement Supérieur) and ensure recommendations are tracked.
Meeting Frequency: The committee meets at least twice a year.
