Sorption
Definition: A physical and chemical process where one substance sticks to another.
Context: Occurs at the boundary of two phases or within a phase.
Leaching
Definition: The process of removing a soluble substance from a solid using a solvent, usually water.
Context: Can occur naturally or be used for various industrial applications.
Permeability
Definition: The property of a medium or material measuring the ease of passing magnetic flux when an external magnetic field is applied.
Porosity
Definition: Measurement of the void or empty spaces in a material and the ratio between the volume of the voids and the volume of the material.
Context: Also known as void fraction.
