Blood pressure | Heart/pulse rate | Oxygen Saturation | Respiration Rate | Temperature |
Blood pressure is the measure of the force of your blood on the arteries. Systolic pressure is the measure of the force against the artery walls when the heart beats. Diastolic blood pressure is the measure of the force against the arteries in between each beat. It can be measured by using a sphygmomanometer that has an inflatable cuff attached to a pressure meter. | Heart rate is the frequency of the heartbeat measured by the number of contractions by the heart per minute. This is measured by putting two fingers on your wrist in between the bone and tendon on the radial artery and counting the number of beats you feel for 15 seconds and multiply that by 4. | Oxygen level is how much oxygen is in your blood which tells you how well your lungs are working and how the heart is pumping the blood. This is measured using a pulse oximeter | Respiration rate is the amount of breaths a person takes per minute at rest. Measured by manually counting the amount of times a patient's chest rises and falls while the patient is at rest. | Temperature is the measurement of the body's core heat. It is tested using a thermometer. |
Normal rate for systolic is 100-120 and for diastolic is 60-80 | Normal Heart rate 60-100 beats per minute. | Normal Rage: 98%-100% (a in a class) | Normal: 12-20 breaths per minute (at rest). | Normal range: 97-99 degrees fahrenheit |
Blood pressure below normal is called hypotension. Above normal is hypertension. | Below 60 bpm, Slower heart rate below normal is called Bradycardia. Above 100 bpm, A faster heart rate is called Tachycardia. | Low oxygen : Hypoxmia | Low range: Under 12 breaths per minute (at rest): known as Bradypnea. High range: Over 20 breaths per minute (at rest); known as Tachypnea. | Any temperature over 100 would be considered a fever/ pyrexia. Hypothermia is considered any temperature under 95. |
