Gait Conditions

Antalgic Gait (painful)

- One foot is in pain, guard arm, flex the hip, knee, ankle

Arthrogenic Gait (stiff knee)

- Matigas ang limb, can’t flex, no dorsiflexion, circumduct (paikot ang lakad ng affected limb), vaulting, clearing of opposite limb

Ataxic Gait (drunken)

- Cerebellum (dilat and close ang paa) or CN 8 (close eyes and feet together) problem, dorsal column, check proprioception, vestibular; tolerance of standing is tested through Romberg test = pikit and feet together

Contracture Gait

- Lean towards extension or flexion (MC), hips and knee

- Hip flexion contracture - hip ang nakaflex

- Knee flexion contracture - knee ang

Gluteus Medius (trendelenburg)

- One side, mahina ang hip, contract the trunk

Chorus Girl Gait

- Like trendelenburg but both GMed (action:abduction) are affected

- To compensate the trunk will contract

Hemiplegic Gait

- Contralateral affectation, on one side: bend wrist, flex elbow, spastic, malakas ang GMax so i-rotate ang limb

Gluteus Maximus

- Early part of stance, tulak pwet, extend likod, backward lurch

Parkinsonian Gait

- Tremors, pill-rolling, galaw sa distal bradykinesia, parallel pars, problem with initiating movement, shuffling gait, MC with boxers

Plantar Flexor Gait

- Contract ang dorsiflexor, walk on the heels of the feet

Psoatic Limp

- Limping, myopathic condition, hip flexion problem, trunk extend to walk or hyperextend

Quadriceps Avoidance Gait

- Avoid contraction of quads, tulak knee pa-extend manually

Scissors Gait

- Cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia, crisscrossing ng paglakad, adductor longus contract

Short Leg Gait

- Lateral ang shorter leg, abduct ang paa to compensate

Foot Drop Gait

- Dorsiflexion problem, heel strike foot slab, dragging of foot
