Stage Two Sleep

  • Description: that’s when we start to become more relaxed; we’re a little further into our sleep cycle.

  • Wakefulness: it’s a little bit more difficult to wake us up.

  • Physiological changes: heart rate, respiration rate, everything internally is starting to slow down to get those good positive cardiovascular benefits.

  • Transition: from there, we’re gonna move into stage three.

Stage Three Sleep

  • Description: now stage three sleep is that really deep sleep.

  • Physiological characteristics: it’s the time during your sleep when our heart rate, our body temperature, and your breathing rate are going to be at its lowest.
