Immunity refers to the ability to of the body to resist and destroy pathogens and respond to infection. Immunity against disease is a sign of good health and can be either natural or acquired.

Natural immunity - is partly inherited and partly developed through healthy living

Acquired immunity - is developed after overcoming a disease, through inoculation (such as flu vaccinations), or through exposure to natural allergens (such as pollen, cat dander, and ragweed)

Proper nutrition - Choose foods that provide a variety of nutrients.

Sleep - Most adults require eight to nine hours a night.

Not smoking - The use of tobacco products significantly damages all systems of the body, including the immune system.
