Cell funtions

Glycoproteins  –        allows communication between adjacent cells

Attachment –     supports the plasma membrane 

Enzymes –    control the rate of chemical reactions

Receptors –    relay signals from the outside of cell to the inside (=signal transduction)

Transport –    movement of materials in/out of cell

Junctions –  connects adjacent cells (gap, tight, anchor)
