Continuous Data Collection
Frequency/Rate
Frequency: The number of times a behavior occurs. Also called a count
Rate: number of times a behavior occurs in a given time frame
Countable behaviors
discrete: definite stop and start point
occur frequently enough to capture in the defined time period
do not occur so quickly as to make accurate counting unlikely
Duration
duration data: data that reports the amount of time that passed between the beginning and ending of a behavioral occurence
Duration behaviors:
behaviors that stop and start rapidly or repeatedly
behaviors that related to goals fo increasing os decreasing endurance or persistence
Latency
latency: amount of time that passes between the stimulus and the initiation of the behavioral response
collected for behaviors in which the goal is to increase or decrease the amount of time that passes between the stimulus and the response
Inter-response time
Inter-response time: The amount of time that elapses between iterations of behavior
Inter-response time behaviors:
building behavioral fluency
decreasing repetitive behaviors
