Report Findings, Drawing Conclusions, and Making Recommendations

• Chapter 4 - Results and Discussion

• Chapter 5 - Conclusion and Recommendations

Research Conclusions (Chapter 5)

• Concise & direct to the point

• Must emphasize main points discussed in chapter 4

• Summarizing the key/main points/ideas of the study, restating the important evidence that supports those points, and the significance of the research

• Briefly explain how the current study contributes to new knowledge

Results and Discussion (Chapter 4)

• Organize based from objectives or similar themes in the RRL

• Start with a short introduction that restates your research problem

• DO NOT add data that does not answer the research problem

• Use tables and figures to illustrate and summarize the results of the study (quantitative research)

Triangulation

• Develop a comprehensive understanding through the convergence of information from different sources

• Putting together information from different viewpoints to get a complete and clear picture of a topic

• Results → Qualitative/Quantitative → Qualitative/Quantitative

  • Numerical data from research instruments (Answered by the participants)

  • Interviews, Thematic analysis
