Background: Germany was experiencing huge hyperinflation and had no stable government. Hitler was sentnced in Prison for 5 years but ultimately was in jail for 1. While he was in Jail he wrote a book called Meim Kamp

Rose to Power: Hindenburg (Presdient) appoints Hitler as Chancelor, then the Reichstag bruned down. The Enabling act was passed (this gave hitler the ability to pass laws without parliment consent during times of an emergency) Hidenburg dies. 

Description: A great speaker and was able to make people support him  

Promise: End reparations, create jobs and re-arm German Army

Goals: Superiority of the Aryan Race, Living Space, Toralitarian State

Political Control: The Nazi Party Controls everything, all political parties banned 

Secret police: Gestapo

Party/system: : Totalitarian 

Religion: NO JEWS, catholics persecuted, protestant church unifed but under state control

Military: Military personal swore an oath to Hitler (not the state), military parades 

SA: Hitlers private army, SS: Controlled Concentration Camps, worked on the boarder.

Education: teachers and administrators pledge allegiance to Hitler, Nazification Circulium
Youth: Hitler Youth- Military group that idealized Hitler and prepared kids to be the next devoted loyal generation

Censorship/Propaganda: Josef Goebbels- Minister of Propaganda, military power,  radios, and film

Economic Control: companies expected to support Nazi Party, lowered unemployment by giving people jobs in public working  jobs and military positions

Social Control: ‘Aryan’ Race, gender + family norms, devotion to the state, anti semitism (anti- jew), anti communism and no free speech

Minorities: Jews prohibited from society, German citizenship revoked, no civil rights, no acess to any public benefits (transportation, school, hospitals, businesses), wore Star of David, jewish buikdings burned, men sent to concentration camps or people forced to immigrate
